How-To Video: DIY Linen Spray

Linen Spray Recipe

I use this homemade linen spray is to freshen up my towels, sheets and pillow cases. It's super simple to make, plus 100% plant-based, with no chemicals.

  • 1 x 100mL bottle with spritzer top
  • 2 tsp Witch Hazel
  • 5 drops lemongrass essential oil
  • 5 drops grapefruit essential oil
  • Cool water from a boiled kettle.

Using a funnel, pour the witch hazel into your bottle, then top up with water. Be careful not to overfill the bottle. Carefully drop in your essential oils and put on the spray cap. I recommend using this within 6 months. Store away from direct heat and sunlight.

Lemongrass and grapefruit are great for a refreshing, bright scent. For a sleepy, calming blend go for Lavender and Bergamot. You can use whatever essential oils you like!

To use, shake up and spritz lightly on any linens that need a freshen up. Towels, sheets and pillow cases are all good targets, but you could also spray carpets, rugs or furniture.

For a real treat on a hot day, douse some fabric squares in water, wring them out before spritzing liberally with your linen spray. Store them in the fridge, then hand them out as a cooling wash cloths. Delightful!
